Sometimes stress can motivate you to change the direction of your life…

To all who are reading,

I just got home from getting off from work.    I cashier at a night club called Lima, in Washington, D.C.,  on Tuesday nights.  I’m frustrated and stressed out because of various things in my life.   Mainly stressed out by my debt to the IRS and daytime job search for internships or jobs in my career field.  I ended up taking a break from my job search and I was browsing various searches for quotes on Google and here were the pearls of wisdom that caught my attention, courtesy of Google (I decided to incorporate some of my photography as well):

“You can never control who you fall in love with, even when you’re in the most sad, confused time of your life, … You don’t fall in love with people because they’re fun. It just happens.”—Kirsten Dunst

I took this of a single rose I got one morning…I was suppose to be taking pictures for self-portraits for my photography assignment and was distracted by its beauty. Enjoy—Monique “Katie”

“Learn to pause . . . or nothing worthwhile will catch up to you”

I took this picture when I went to DC to shoot the cherry blossoms one afternoon. As I was walking along the road, the sun shining through the weeping willow caught my attention and the combination with the way the sun glistened off the water was beautiful. Enjoy —Monique “Katie”

FAVORITE: “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.”—Doug Floyd

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”—Winston Churchill

FAVORITE: “You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.”—Albert Einstein

“As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.”—Unknown

“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.”—Mark Victor Hansen

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”— Melody Beattie

“Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless.” — Jamie Paolinetti

Walking along a bike trail in South Arlington, the sun shone warm on 2 leaves perfectly illuminating their beauty and the splendor of their colors. Enjoy —Monique “Katie”

“In youth we learn, in age we understand.”— Marie von Ebner- Eschenbach

“Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.”—Unknown

“Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.”—Unknown

“Exercise caution in your business affairs for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.”—Unknown

“You are a child of the universe; no less than the trees and the stars, you have the right to be here.”—Unknown

“And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.”—Unknown

“Therefore be at peace with God whatever you conceive Him to be.”—Unknown

“And whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul.”—Unknown

“One day at a time–this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering.” – Author Unknown

“Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.” – James Arthur Baldwin

“It was a high counsel that I once heard given
to a young person, “Always do what you are afraid to do.”— Ralph Waldo

(My opinion: Take calculated risks)

Dear Reader,

Sometimes when I’m at a loss for words or have lost my sense of direction in life, I look to quotes for inspiration, motivation, and guidance.  You can never read enough quotes in my opinion.  And I truly believe nothing but good can derive from their inspiration.  Quotes are thought provoking and thus life changing.  So do not be afraid to act in the moment because nine times out of ten your first instinct is always right.  Who knows where they will lead you.  When you reach your destination, please share your journey with me.

Goodnight all & sweet dreams,                                                                                                                                         Monique “Katie”

      Dear Wendy,

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I’m happy to hear that you loved some of the quotes as much as I did. I wanted to thank you for the compliment on my about me section. I wanted to be as honest and as genuine as possible. This blog has always been a dream of mine, in the way of touching other’s lives before I die. But more so, even though it is still a work in progress I am happy that I am getting the chance to show others who I really am and what I have to offer through my passion for writing. I spent so many years writing in random notebooks and basically on anything I could get a thought written down fast enough on, but I never got to share much of what was on my mind. When I did choose to share, I found that my words helped people in ways I never expected, so that sparked a curiosity in me. And I wondered who else’s life I could touch? I figured keeping my words to myself defeated the purpose of expressing myself. I don’t know about others, but when I get in moods, have questions, or I’m dealing with something in life I often google looking for quotes, songs, words of advice, or even people who have wisdom because they have gone through something similar. Lately I haven’t been blogging as much as I would like to have been but I am planning on getting back into my writing and blogging. So feel free to stop by and check out new additions of quotes in my posts. Thank you for sharing your association with me, I will definitely check it out.

Thank you so much for your time and your kind words,
      Love Katie

(I apologize for the late reply, but I wanted to take the time to respond instead of a quick response)
